I might have made the argument for Lady Camden here, but I can’t be mad. In the end, though, it’s Jorgeous who triumphs. My occipital lobe is positively fried, but I couldn’t be happier. I watched three times just to take in as much of each individual queen as I could. It’s a feast for the eyes to the point of being overwhelming. Lady Camden’s dance ambitions are equally if not more ambitious than Jorgeous’s, and she even manages to layer in some funny comedic bits during the bridge. Angeria is fully dialed in, making unwavering eye contact with the judges’ panel while occasionally dropping into a well-placed dip. Jorgeous is in peak form, swinging her B’Day-era Beyoncé hair and firing off complex, highly technical choreo like it’s nothing. So it’s only fitting that this lip sync is the tightest of the evening. Angeria won the very first challenge off the strength of her performance chops, and Lady Camden’s Blondie lip sync a few weeks ago was a high point of the season. Much fuss is made about how good Jorgeous and Jasmine are at the top of this episode, but we’ve seen both Angeria and Lady Camden destroy their share of lip syncs. While still nowhere near as strong a lip syncer as some of the other queens remaining in the competition, Willow (not to mention her mind) proves she’s a force to be reckoned with.Īngeria vs. Much of the lip sync is an even split, but Ru can’t seem to take her eyes off Willow’s hip gyrations, air guitar, etc. So Willow picks Bosco as her lip sync partner, hedging a bet that Bosco’s choice will play right into her hands. While they never name a song explicitly, the implication (and Bosco’s thought process) to Willow is clear as day. Back in the Werkroom, Willow and Bosco commiserate over wanting a song they can explore comedically. Unfortunately for Willow, she’s selected first, leaving her no control over the song choice … or so you’d think. She can play to her strengths, of course, but of all the songs in the lineup, only one has the potential to highlight her comedic, camp sensibility. While Willow’s talents appear to number in the dozens (not that she’d tell you about any of them), acrobatic lip syncs are not her forte. In heels and a scoochie dress, no less! But let’s back up a minute. And yet, after one singular example of watching the game play out, Willow immediately absorbs all relevant information, forms a winning strategy, and executes it perfectly. RuPaul announces the twist to catch the queens off guard, refuses to tell them the rules, and makes every attempt to turn their panic meters up to 100. Willow Pill - “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross Daya has finally claimed victory over her sworn nemesis, and we can finally put this conflict to rest (I hope).īosco vs. In between snapping at Jasmine and Jorgeous, Daya’s driving narrative in this competition has been her desperation for recognition and, well … some R-E-S-P-E-C-T from the judges. It’s the perfect song for Daya if you think about it. Daya’s choice proves wise: She enunciates every syllable of the soul classic, and her movements, while simple, are effective from a storytelling perspective. Sure, she might wipe the floor with Daya to JLo, but to Aretha Franklin? Not so much. On the surface, Jasmine has the advantage over Daya physically (e.g., being 21, having legs that defy physics and gravity) and statistically (Jasmine is three for three in lip syncs, while Daya has lost her only one.) However, much of that advantage disintegrates when Ru reveals her second twist of the night: the second queen gets to pick the song. The culmination of ten episodes of (primarily one-sided) conflict between Jasmine Kennedie and Daya Betty. Daya Betty - “Respect” by Aretha Franklinįirst up, it’s the lip sync we’ve all been waiting for. Lip syncs, lip syncs, lip syncs! (Side note from Aaron Jodka of Colliers: With the exception of a 100,000-square-foot chunk of space opening up at Tripadvisor’s headquarters in Needham, Boston’s suburban office market seems stable right now.) That’s the highest number since 2004 - when corporate giants Fleet and John Hancock were gobbled up within a 12-month time frame - and the third-highest of any quarter since 1990. The real estate brokerage Colliers reported that companies put nearly 900,000 square feet of office space in Boston on the sublease market for the first time in the second quarter. Sales have surged through the pandemic, although LogMeIn did make some technology available for free to nonprofits and government agencies.Įxecutives at other white-collar companies are pondering similar questions. He does, in fact, sell software geared specifically for this kind of transition: LastPass,, the entire GoTo suite. Going remote can help accomplish all three goals. Companies are under pressure to reduce their carbon footprints, to shave real estate and travel expenses, and to hire more diverse workforces. The increasing acceptance of remote work was already under way, Wagner said. ( He joined LogMeIn on June 15.) While Veldran may get an apartment in Boston, Wagner said he doesn’t expect his right-hand man to have to pick up and move here. Like many other CEOs, Wagner considers the chief financial officer to be the number two job, the top lieutenant. LogMeIn’s interviews with Veldran were conducted remotely. Rich Veldran, the new CFO, fit the bill: He guided the financial information provider Dun & Bradstreet when that company went private. Wagner wanted someone with experience taking a company private to replace Ed Herdiech, whose retirement was announced last fall. LogMeIn is expected to be acquired by summer’s end by two private equity firms, Francisco Partners and Evergreen Coast Capital, in a deal valued at $4.3 billion when it was announced in December. They just need to be in the same time zone.Ĭase in point: the new chief financial officer. And new hires don’t need to move to Boston. In fact, Wagner said his chief of staff, Chris Perrotti, plans to do exactly that: He is moving to his Vermont home. Existing employees might be able to move to another state if they want. The shift also significantly widens the pool of talent available. That’s one reason why Wagner envisions adopting a hybrid model, of sorts. And many say they are more productive now that they no longer spend hours commuting.īut employees still miss the social aspects of office life, Wagner said. People like the flexibility they have now, he said. Of those, only 5 percent said they want to be in the office five days a week. LogMeIn surveyed its 3,700 employees worldwide. Instead, Wagner said he’s keen on letting employees work where they want to work. (A spokeswoman says some savings would be redeployed to help equip home offices.) This isn’t primarily about saving money, Wagner said, even though cost savings could be found. Even harder for Wagner to predict: What will happen to all the lunch places, bars, and other businesses that serve all the workers who used to arrive like clockwork? Wagner said it’s far too early to know what this means for the 230,000 square feet LogMeIn leases in Fort Point - how much he’ll need, how it will be reconfigured. Wagner predicts LogMeIn’s corporate office will become more of a place for team meetings, training sessions, and similar get-togethers and less of a place where people dutifully show up every morning at 9 to grind out another workday. The breakdown won’t be known for months, probably not until a vaccine is widely available. Sure, many colleagues will come in less frequently, but others will be essentially remote workers all of the time. How few? Wagner said he expects 20 percent to return five days a week after the pandemic is over. Only a small portion will work all five weekdays at the main offices along both sides of Summer Street in Fort Point. But some won’t ever return to LogMeIn’s headquarters. All 700-plus of Wagner’s Boston employees work remotely right now - like most of Boston’s white-collar workforce - and they will continue to do so until October. Description These things are going to be level 1-3, so if you're using high-level pets there is NO way you're going to be able to hit this without killing it. Any serious pet collector probably knows this, but just to be sure, be VERY careful you have a capture team ready with a Terrible Turnip or very low level pet. Thus, just keep flying circles around the zone, ignoring Frogs and killing everything else you see to force spawns on these. They don't appear to share a spawn with the Frogs or Fawns, though I'm not completely sure on the Fawns. They appear to be maybe something like a 1 in 5 spawn and spawn everywhere in the zone. There are no secondary pets in this zone due to the low pet levels, so you have to fight them as primary spawns. its not hard and fast, but I've noticed that the 2nd critter is often "uncommon" or better in quality, so make your decision to capture the first or second creature quickly, because once you've captured the first one, you cannot capture his "friend" as well.Ĭomment by 1062573Let's just say that finding a rare version of this pet definitely is not the simplest pet, but I've seen harder ones too. and if the first critter is obviously not the quality you want, just nuke it and move on to his friend. One other thing to consider is that usually in zones beyond the newbie zones a critter you challenge will very likely get a friend to help. I keep a high level pet in my stable of 3 when I go hunting, and if I see that the quarry I'm trying to tame is lower health than the one I just tamed (for the same level of course) I just break out the big gun and put the smack down on it to save time (and win, allowing me to get those consecutive victory achievements at the same time) I tame lots of wild beasties for my collection, and prefer only the rare ones for my stables. when capturing wild beasties for your collection, you may only collect up to a total of 3 of any certain type (although bliz did allow more than this for the multiples from many characters, you cannot collect more beyond the limit of 3) so, make sure you have less than 2 when you challenge that hard to find beast Only by capturing it and checking stats can you be sure. judging by its health alone can help decide to continue the fight or just put it out of its misery, but be warned you may kill a rare, based off merely its health. Because of how stats are balanced, you may get a harvester with 270 health that is "common" but has low combat abilities, and another that has only 250 health, but is powerful, and fast. This is by no means a hard-fast rule the stats on pets are balanced like they are on gear, if you get a bit more on one stat, you lose on another. Higher health critters are generally better quality: 140 health for instance on a alpine hare might be "poor" quality, but 150 could be "rare". Comment by elstohnThe "quality" of pets can NOT be determined by the stats before you initiate combat, but it may be guessed when looking at its stats after you have challenged the critter. |
